Munich, July 2024 - HÖRMANN Intralogistics is pleased to announce the commissioning of a new AutoStore system for SSV-Kroschke GmbH at its Wutha-Farnroda site. The automated solution will significantly improve warehouse management and efficiency at the leading supplier of vending machines for PPE, tools and C-parts management for industrial companies.

The AutoStore system is installed in an existing warehouse and includes an aluminum grid system (single-double grid) that enables the storage and management of more than 20,750 bins and is initially filled with 15,000 bins. Each container can carry up to 30 kg. The system is designed to operate 10 hours a day, five days a week and ensures efficient storage and retrieval processes. It comprises eleven robots and three carousel ports, which have a storage and retrieval capacity of 120 and 290 containers per hour respectively. The scope of delivery also includes aerosol generators for fire prevention and, for the first time, a robot cleaning station.

SSV-Kroschke is an innovative specialist for C-parts management and procurement solutions. Headquartered in Wutha-Farnroda, the company has been optimizing the procurement processes of industrial customers for over 30 years. Services in connection with dispensing systems and purchasing optimization, such as savings potential analyses of procurement costs, are the core competencies. The electronic dispensing machines provide C-parts ranging from milling heads and tools to personal protective equipment (PPE) and general consumables at the customer's site. Accompanying services or the management of measuring equipment complete the range. The introduction of the AutoStore system guarantees faster and more reliable deliveries, an important competitive advantage.

Friedrich-Wilhelm Reese, Managing Director of SSV-Kroschke, comments: "The integration of the AutoStore system optimizes warehouse processes and supports our ambitious growth plans. We are looking forward to working with HÖRMANN Intralogistics and the benefits that this established technology will bring."

The system is controlled by the HiLIS Warehouse Management System (WMS) developed by HÖRMANN Intralogistics, which ensures seamless integration and efficient management of all warehouse processes. HiLIS WMS offers comprehensive functions for optimizing warehouse and transport processes and helps to further increase efficiency and accuracy in warehouse management.

The AutoStore system is scheduled to go live at SSV-Kroschke in the second quarter of 2025. This will ensure that the new warehouse solution is 100 percent operational according to the specified schedule.
