Second AutoStore® system for flaschenpost: an anniversary for HÖRMANN Intralogistics
With the first, innovative combined cooling and room temperature AutoStore® system in Langenfeld (Rhineland), HÖRMANN Intralogistics convinced those responsible at flaschenpost. Even before its completion, the team around Business Development Manager Tom Walther has now already received the order for a second micro-fulfillment project for a new logistics building of the online delivery service.

For HÖRMANN Intralogistics, this is a double reason to celebrate. Because the new project marks the 50th AutoStore® system.
Simultaneous picking of refrigerated and non-refrigerated goods from AutoStore®
For the innovative design of the AutoStore® system, the different temperature zones "Ambient" and "Chilled" were combined in the planning of HÖRMANN Intralogistics so that it is possible to pick dry and chilled goods from both systems for one order.
AutoStore® System "Chilled" for refridgerated goods:
- Approx. 6,400 AutoStore containers
- 14 "Red-Line" Robots
- 8 conveyor ports for putaway and picking
Also included in the scope of delivery is the complete housing of the chilled system as well as the cooling technology to operate the system at 2°C.
"Ambient" AutoStore® system for room temperature items:
- Approx. 7,500 bins
- 19 "Red-Line" robots
- 6 carousel ports and 2 conveyor ports for storage and retrieval
Furthermore, a two-part conveyor system for container tendering and removal, as well as a comprehensive steel structures are included in the scope of delivery.
The second flaschenpost AutoStore® system is scheduled to go into operation with the completion of a new logistics site at the end of 2023.
